Leaked: Early Battlefield 6 Footage Appears Online

by Matthew May 26,2025

It seems that some early gameplay footage from EA's highly anticipated upcoming Battlefield game has surfaced online, following a closed playtesting session. According to TheGamer, a Twitch user named anto_merguezz streamed footage from EA's exclusive Battlefield Labs playtest, designed to let a select group of players experience and provide feedback on early versions of the game. Although anto_merguezz's stream no longer hosts the clips, someone captured the footage, which has since spread across various online platforms, particularly Reddit.

The leaked footage appears to substantiate earlier hints from Vince Zampella about the game's "modern" setting, setting it apart from previous Battlefield titles that explored historical or futuristic themes. Viewers are treated to glimpses of intense firefights and the game's hallmark destructible environments. The community's initial reaction has been largely positive, a promising sign especially in light of the lukewarm launch of Battlefield 2042.

Following the official reveal last month, we've learned that the next Battlefield installment will feature a return to a traditional, single-player, linear campaign—a feature missed by many in the multiplayer-focused Battlefield 2042. This news has been warmly received by the fanbase.

EA is targeting a release for this new Battlefield title during its fiscal year 2026, spanning from April 2025 to March 2026. As the launch date approaches, we can anticipate more official updates and reveals from EA. With leaks like these, it's clear that EA will need to step up its efforts to keep the game under wraps until then.

IGN has reached out to EA for further comment on this matter.
