No Man's Sky: Your Guide to Finding, Farming, and Crafting Solanium

Solanium, a crucial resource in No Man's Sky, is exclusively found on planets with specific climates. This guide covers gathering, farming, and crafting methods to ensure a steady supply.

Solanium Location

Locating Solanium:

Solanium thrives on hot, arid planets. Before landing, use your ship's scanner to identify planets with descriptions like "Arid," "Incandescent," "Boiling," or "Scorched." The scanner will also directly indicate Solanium availability. Upon landing, deploy your Analysis Visor to locate Solar Vines – tall, rock-like structures with glowing vines. These are abundant in specific areas and require a Haz-Mat Gauntlet for harvesting. Remember to collect Phosphorus deposits if present, as they're crucial for crafting Solanium.

Farming Solanium:

Once you've progressed the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, you can cultivate Solar Vines at your base. Use a Hydroponic Tray or Bio-Dome, planting each vine with 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. If your base is on a hot planet, direct ground planting is possible. Allow approximately 16 real-time hours for growth before harvesting.

Crafting Solanium:

The Refiner offers several Solanium crafting recipes, most needing Phosphorus (often sourced from hot planets, or purchased from traders/Galactic Trade Terminals). Here are the recipes:

  • Solanium + Phosphorus (to increase Solanium)
  • Phosphorus + Oxygen
  • Phosphorus + Sulphurine
  • Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine

While Sulphurine is also needed in some recipes, a reliable Phosphorus supply and base farm is the most efficient method for consistent Sulphurine production.
