Metro 2033's "Cursed" Mission: A Comprehensive Guide

Despite its age, Metro 2033 remains a fan favorite, especially after the release of Metro Awakening. This guide focuses on the challenging "Cursed" mission, often confusing for players due to unclear objectives and the station's layout. This mission begins after the railcar ride from the previous mission.

Locating the Bomb

Bomb Location The defenders will explain that a bomb squad attempted to collapse the tunnel to stop the nosalis attacks but went missing. Your task is to find and detonate the bomb. Expect constant nosalis attacks; retreat to the defenders for support if overwhelmed. The bomb is located at the far end of the right-hand tunnel. Avoid the ghostly shadows directly ahead – they'll damage you. Once you have the bomb, proceed to the next step or retreat if needed.

Destroying the Tunnel

Tunnel Destruction To detonate the bomb, enter the left-hand tunnel (from the defenders' perspective). Artyom will automatically plant and light the fuse; escape immediately to avoid the blast. Alternatively, a grenade or pipe bomb will achieve the same result. Note: even with the tunnel destroyed, nosalises may still enter from other points.

Destroying the Airlock

Airlock Destruction A further objective involves destroying an airlock. Locate the stairs on the right of the main platform, leading to a torchlit area. Ignore the nosalises there and interact with the support columns to place a pipe bomb. Evacuate immediately after lighting the fuse. With both entrances destroyed, proceed with Khan to the shrine room and the next mission, "Armory."
