by Aurora Mar 21,2025

Get ready for some demonic action! Netflix is bringing the legendary Devil May Cry to anime form, and a brand-new trailer offers a thrilling glimpse into what's in store. Even more exciting? The late, great Kevin Conroy lends his iconic voice to the series.

Conroy, forever celebrated as the voice of Batman, posthumously stars as the new character VP Baines, his presence heard in the trailer's opening moments. Following his acclaimed posthumous role in Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 3, this marks another opportunity to appreciate Conroy's talent, tragically lost in November 2022 at age 66. Joining Conroy are Scout Taylor-Compton as Mary, Hoon Lee as White Rabbit, Chris Coppola as Enzo, and Johnny Yong Bosch as the iconic Dante.

Netflix's synopsis reveals a high-stakes plot: "Sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck."

Producer Adi Shankar serves as showrunner, bringing his experience from films like Dredd, Killing Them Softly, and The Voices. He's also attached to an Assassin's Creed adaptation, though its future remains uncertain. The animation is handled by Studio Mir, the South Korean studio behind acclaimed series like The Legend of Korra and X-Men ‘97.

Devil May Cry arrives on Netflix April 3, 2025.
