Netmarble's popular action RPG, King of Fighters ALLSTAR, is closing its doors this October. The announcement, made recently on Netmarble's official forums, came as a surprise to many fans.
The game's final day will be October 30th, 2024. In-game purchases have already been disabled, with the in-app store shutting down on June 26th, 2024.
Why the Shutdown?
King of Fighters ALLSTAR enjoyed a successful run of over six years, featuring numerous high-profile fighting game crossovers and building upon the legacy of SNK's King of Fighters franchise. Despite generally positive player reviews praising its animation and PvP modes, the developers hinted at a potential shortage of characters to adapt as a contributing factor to the closure. However, this is likely just part of the story, with other undisclosed reasons possibly playing a role.
The game did experience some challenges, including optimization issues and occasional crashes, which led to player frustration. Nevertheless, it still managed to achieve millions of downloads across Google Play and the App Store.
Players still interested in experiencing King of Fighters ALLSTAR have approximately four months remaining before the servers shut down. Download the game from the Google Play Store and enjoy its legendary battles before October.
