Hotta Studios' upcoming open-world RPG, Neverness to Everness, is gearing up for its first closed beta test. Unfortunately, this initial test is exclusively for players in mainland China.
While international players may miss out on the beta, they can still keep an eye on developments. Gematsu recently highlighted new lore details, which shouldn't be too surprising to those who've seen the impressive trailers showcasing the city of Eibon (see below). These details reveal a more comedic narrative and the intriguing blend of the fantastical and everyday life in Hetherau.
Hotta Studios, a subsidiary of Perfect World (creators of the successful Tower of Fantasy), is entering a competitive market. Neverness to Everness, while fitting within the current trend of urban-focused 3D RPGs, distinguishes itself with unique features.

A standout feature is open-world driving. Players can enjoy high-speed city chases, but be warned: crashes are realistic and impactful.
The game faces significant competition from titles like MiHoYo's Zenless Zone Zero and NetEase's Ananta (formerly Project Mugen), both of which are setting a high bar in the mobile 3D open-world RPG genre.
