Nintendo and LEGO have teamed up again, this time producing a LEGO Game Boy set! Launching October 2025, this follows the successful LEGO NES release.
The announcement, however, has sparked a flurry of speculation online regarding the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2. Many Twitter users jokingly interpreted the news as a delayed Switch 2 reveal, with comments such as, "Thanks for finally revealing the new console," and "At this rate, a LEGO Switch 2 will be out before the actual system."

While Nintendo remains tight-lipped about the Switch 2, President Furukawa's May 7, 2024 statement promises an announcement before the end of their fiscal year (March). Patience is key!
Pricing details for the LEGO Game Boy are yet to be revealed, but further information is expected in the coming weeks.
Beyond the NES, Nintendo and LEGO have previously collaborated on sets featuring iconic characters from popular franchises like Super Mario, Animal Crossing, and The Legend of Zelda.

A notable example is the May 2024 release of a 2,500-piece Legend of Zelda set, the "Great Deku Tree 2-in-1," priced at $299.99 USD. This detailed set features the tree from Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild, along with Princess Zelda and the Master Sword.

Following closely in July 2024, a Super Mario World LEGO set debuted, showcasing a pixelated Mario riding Yoshi. A rotating crank animates Yoshi's leg, offering a unique interactive element. This set retails at $129.99 USD.
