Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is shutting down! Nintendo recently announced the End of Service (EOS) for the popular mobile game, leaving many players surprised. Let's explore the details.
The Shutdown Date: November 28th, 2024
Online services for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will cease on November 28th, 2024. This means no more Leaf Tickets, and no further Pocket Camp Club membership renewals. Auto-renewal for the Club will stop on October 28th, with no refunds for existing memberships (though you'll receive a commemorative badge). Your final opportunity to acquire Leaf Tickets is November 26th. Say your goodbyes to the online community on November 28th at 7:00 AM PST.
A Silver Lining: An Offline Version!
While online services end, Nintendo plans to release a paid offline version of the game. This version won't include features like the Market Box, gifting, or visiting friends' campsites, but the core gameplay will remain. Your saved data will transfer, allowing continued play without an internet connection. Expect more details on this paid offline version around October 2024.
A Trend of Mobile Game Closures?
This closure follows a pattern of Nintendo phasing out mobile games, including Dr. Mario World and Dragalia Lost, with Mario Kart Tour also showing signs of reduced support. Therefore, the shutdown of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp isn't entirely unexpected.
Download Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp from the Google Play Store to enjoy the remaining time. Stay tuned for our next article covering Netflix's Monument Valley 3.
