Surprise! Nintendo's 2024 lineup includes an interactive alarm clock. Beyond the newly revealed Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo, a mysterious Switch Online playtest is also underway.
Nintendo's Interactive Alarm Clock: Alarmo
Priced at $99, the "Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo" uses game sounds to rouse you from slumber. Nintendo boasts that you'll feel like you're waking up inside your favorite game. The clock features sounds from iconic franchises like Mario, Zelda, and Splatoon, with free updates adding more in the future.
The Alarmo's unique feature is its motion-sensing technology. It won't shut off until you're completely out of bed, rewarding your effort with a victory fanfare. Waving your hand merely quiets the alarm temporarily; prolonged bed-dwelling increases the alarm's intensity.

Utilizing a radio wave sensor, the Alarmo measures your distance and movement speed without video recording, prioritizing user privacy. Nintendo developer Tetsuya Akama explains its ability to detect subtle movements even in dark rooms or with obstacles, thanks to the radio wave technology.
A limited-time pre-release is available for Nintendo Switch Online members in the US and Canada via the My Nintendo Store. The Nintendo New York store also offers in-person purchases.
