Hold onto your capes, Marvel fans, because rumors are swirling that Oscar Isaac could be reprising his role as Moon Knight in the upcoming blockbuster, Avengers: Doomsday. The speculation kicked off after Star Wars Celebration announced that Isaac had to cancel his appearance at the event in Japan due to changes in his production schedule. This news sent fans into a frenzy, especially since Avengers: Doomsday is currently in production in London.
Isaac's absence from Star Wars Celebration was initially tied to hopes of his return as Poe Dameron, especially after Daisy Ridley announced her involvement in a new Star Wars film at the 2023 event. However, the recent shift in Isaac's schedule has led many to believe he might be suiting up as Moon Knight for the Avengers.
Social media erupted with speculation:

Despite the buzz, it's important to note that this is still just a theory. Isaac's name was not included in the initial cast reveal for Avengers: Doomsday. However, Marvel Studios producer Kevin Feige hinted at more surprises to come, stating at CinemaCon that the livestream did not reveal the entire cast — "We revealed many, not all," he teased, leaving room for speculation about Isaac's potential involvement.
Isaac previously starred in the six-episode Moon Knight series released in 2022, but there has been no official word on a sequel. Meanwhile, Avengers: Doomsday is slated to premiere on May 1, 2026, promising a cinematic event with a lineup of returning heroes and new faces.
In other MCU news, fans are also buzzing about Robert Downey Jr.'s recent Doctor Doom-themed birthday invitation, adding another layer of intrigue to the ever-evolving Marvel universe.
As for Avengers: Doomsday, the cast reveal last month showcased a strong presence of veteran X-Men actors, including Kelsey Grammer (Beast), Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), and James Marsden (Cyclops). Grammer and Stewart have already made their MCU debuts, while the others are set to join the fray, fueling speculation that Avengers: Doomsday might be setting the stage for an epic Avengers vs. X-Men showdown.
