People Can Fly Joins Sony for New Project Delta

by Emily May 14,2025

People Can Fly, renowned for their work on Bulletstorm and as co-developers of Gears of War: E-Day, have recently inked a deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment to work on a new game, codenamed Project Delta. According to a report from People Can Fly, this project will be developed under a work-for-hire agreement, though specifics about the game remain under wraps.

The studio is juggling multiple projects, each with its own codename. Alongside Project Delta, they're also working on Project Gemini in collaboration with Square Enix—despite laying off 30 developers from this project last year. Other projects include Project Echo with Krafton, Project Red (which also appears to be linked with Sony), and the VR-focused Project Bison, which the studio recently confirmed as their last venture into virtual reality.

In recent developments, People Can Fly announced the suspension of Project Victoria last December and scaled back efforts on Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, they also decided to cancel Project Dagger, an action-adventure game that was being developed in partnership with Take-Two Interactive.

Despite these shifts, People Can Fly currently has a robust lineup with eight ongoing projects, including the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, developed in partnership with The Coalition. While a release date for Gears of War: E-Day remains undisclosed, Project Gemini, their collaboration with Square Enix, is slated for a 2026 release.
