PSA: Days Gone Remastered $10 PS5 Upgrade Not Available for Game Redemptions via PS Plus

by Adam Mar 06,2025

Days Gone Remastered, a highlight of Sony's recent State of Play event, has sparked controversy among PlayStation Plus subscribers due to its $10 upgrade policy. Sony's confirmation that the discounted upgrade is exclusive to owners of the PlayStation 4 disc or digital version excludes those who acquired the game through PS Plus.

This means PS Plus users, including those who obtained Days Gone through the now-defunct PS Plus Collection or the April 2021 Essential monthly games offering, must pay the full $49.99 for the PS5 remaster.

This pricing detail has prompted widespread online complaints from disgruntled PS Plus subscribers. A PlayStation Plus subreddit post showcases numerous comments from users who express their willingness to pay the $10 upgrade but are now foregoing the game altogether.

"They would have made more money if PS Plus players were eligible," commented squarejellyfish_, highlighting the potential lost revenue. Others echoed this sentiment, stating they'd pay the $10 upgrade but not the full price. One user, jackanyon95, criticized Sony's decision, stating, "They gave away the game for free...but they decided to be awkward instead and cut out half the owner base."

While some PS Plus subscribers understand Sony's likely financially-driven decision, the company is facing criticism for its perceived stinginess, particularly from loyal fans who anticipated a more generous approach.
