Rumor: The First Specs Of The Nvidia RTX 5090 Have Leaked

by Audrey Jan 16,2025

Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090: 32GB GDDR7 Memory and 575W Power Draw – A CES 2025 Reveal

Leaked information suggests Nvidia's upcoming GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card will pack a powerful punch. Sources indicate it will feature a massive 32GB of GDDR7 video memory and a significant 575W power draw. The official unveiling is slated for Nvidia's CES 2025 keynote address on January 6th.

The RTX 50 series, codenamed Blackwell, represents Nvidia's next-generation leap in graphics card technology, arriving more than two years after the RTX 40 series launch. Building upon its predecessors, the RTX 50 series will leverage Tensor Cores for AI processing, incorporate DLSS upscaling, ray tracing capabilities, and support PCIe 5.0 on compatible motherboards. This new lineup will replace the RTX 40 series (some models of which, like the RTX 4090D and RTX 4070, have already been discontinued) and compete directly with AMD's Radeon RX 9000 series and Intel's Battlemage GPUs.

Pre-CES leaks, initially reported by VideoCardz, showcased Inno3D's iChill X3 RTX 5090. Images of this triple-fan card, occupying over three expansion slots, confirmed the 32GB GDDR7 memory – double the expected capacity of the RTX 5070 Ti. The 575W power requirement represents a notable increase over the RTX 4090's 450W.

The Nvidia RTX 5090: High Memory, High Cost

Key features of the RTX 5090, as revealed by Nvidia partner Inno3D, include:

  • 32GB GDDR7 Video Memory: Twice the anticipated memory of the RTX 5080 and 5070 Ti.
  • 575W Power Draw: Demanding a robust power supply.
  • Official Reveal: January 6th, at CES 2025.

The RTX 50 series will utilize a 16-pin power connector, though adapters will be available. While the specifications are impressive, the RTX 5090 is expected to carry a premium price tag, potentially starting at $1,999 or higher. Nvidia has yet to confirm pricing.

The RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti will also be unveiled alongside the RTX 5090 during Nvidia's CES keynote. The arrival of this new generation will undoubtedly be closely watched by consumers.
