Indie developer Slothwerks, the creator of the Meteorfall series, returns with a new card-based battler. Meteorfall: Rustbowl Rumble is now accepting pre-registrations on Android. As the third installment following Meteorfall (2017) and Meteorfall: Krumit’s Tale (2019), the game is scheduled for release next month.
This is a roguelike deckbuilder featuring quick matches where victory comes from creatively bending the rules rather than strictly following them. Your goal is to play cards and win over a rowdy, bloodthirsty audience. You lead a squad of three heroes, selectable from a roster of eight, each with their own unique deck.
With over 200 cards at your disposal, you can customize them during a run using layered upgrade systems. Wild Cards allow you to break standard combat rules, and performing mid-battle feats earns you powerful buffs.
Between clashes, you’ll return to Bramble Town to make difficult strategic choices. Do you invest in deck upgrades, focus on team training, or simply explore the area to soak up its strange atmosphere?
The game was initially revealed as Bramble Royale, but feedback indicated many players assumed it was a battle royale title. Consequently, the developers officially rebranded it to Meteorfall: Rustbowl Rumble a few weeks ago.
This is a savvy decision, as reintegrating the Meteorfall name immediately signals to fans that the game belongs to the same charmingly odd universe. To see the game in action, take a look at the footage below.
Fans of the series can pre-register for Meteorfall: Rustbowl Rumble via the Google Play Store. The launch is set for June 25th, 2025, with a price point of $6.99.
