A schizophrenic fan found inspiration in Arkham Knight getting one of the legendary Kevin Conroy's latest videos in return

In 2020, a Batman: Arkham Knight fan battling schizophrenia commissioned a short video message from Kevin Conroy through the Cameo service. Expecting a standard 30-second greeting, he received over six minutes of deeply personal encouragement. Conroy, profoundly touched by the fan's story, went far beyond a simple response. This video became a lifeline for the fan during incredibly challenging times.

A Reddit post shared this moving story. After completing Batman: Arkham Knight, the fan was deeply affected by the game's ending, where Batman confronts his own fears, paranoia, and hallucinations—a powerful parallel to the fan's struggle with schizophrenia. Expressing his gratitude, he contacted Conroy, sharing his condition and how Batman's journey resonated with his own.

Anticipating a typical Cameo response, he was overwhelmed by Conroy's heartfelt, extensive message of support and understanding.

The fan shared: "This video has saved me from suicide countless times. Hearing Batman say he believed in me was incredibly powerful… But as time went on, it became just as important that it was Kevin himself who believed in me."

Initially hesitant to share the video publicly, the fan's decision changed upon learning that Conroy had a brother who also lived with schizophrenia. Hoping to offer similar comfort to others, he published the video, stating:

"If someone in his family asks me to delete this video, I will of course do so. But it has inspired me in my toughest moments, and maybe it will inspire someone else. Hang in there. Because Batman believes in you."

The passing of Kevin Conroy, the iconic voice of Batman, on November 10, 2022, at the age of 66, is a profound loss. However, his words and enduring legacy continue to inspire millions worldwide.
