The Sims franchise is marking its 25th anniversary with a bang, and while Electronic Arts has unveiled its celebratory plans, further surprises appear likely.
A recent Sims teaser subtly referenced the series' first two installments, sparking widespread fan speculation about a potential revival. Although unconfirmed, Kotaku sources hint at a possible announcement later this week: digital PC re-releases of The Sims 1 and 2, complete with their original expansion packs.
The possibility of console versions remains open, and a decision on this front is yet to be made. However, given the potential for capitalizing on nostalgic demand, a console release seems highly probable.
The original Sims 1 and 2 are now difficult to legally access. Their return would undoubtedly be a welcome event for long-time fans.
