by Audrey Mar 26,2025

Sony has rolled out new updates for both the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, enhancing various features and improving overall user experience.

The PS5 update, version 25.02-11.00.00, weighs in at 1.3GB and brings several noteworthy changes. One of the key improvements is in the activities section, where activity details are now fully displayed on cards, making it easier for users to view them without clicking through. To enhance user experience, potential spoilers within these activity details remain hidden, ensuring that the excitement of discovery is preserved.

Another exciting addition to the PS5 is the support for Unicode 16.0 emojis, allowing gamers to express themselves more vividly in their messages. Additionally, there have been updates to parental controls. When setting the restriction level to Late Teens or Older, the Communication and User-Generated Content setting will now default to Restrict. Users who previously set their controls to Late Teens or Older will see their settings as Customize, maintaining their previous configurations.

As always, Sony has focused on enhancing the system software's performance and stability, ensuring a smoother and more reliable gaming experience. There are also improvements to messages and usability on some screens, making navigation and interaction more intuitive.
