Spider-Man Animated Series on Disney+ Already Renewed for Seasons 2 and 3

Marvel's Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, the Disney+ animated series chronicling Peter Parker's freshman year, has already secured renewals for Seasons 2 and 3. Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios' head of streaming, television, and animation, revealed in an interview with The Movie Podcast that Season 2's scripts are complete, with half the storyboards finished—all before Season 1 even premieres on January 29th. Season 3 is also officially greenlit.

Winderbaum expressed his enthusiasm for the show, stating, "I've fallen so head over heels in love with these characters and I've now read all of the scripts for Season 2; we're halfway through the animatics. What [lead writer and executive producer Jeff Trammell] is building brick by brick in this show starts to pay off. You feel it in Season 1. You grow connected to these characters so that when everything starts to lock into place and pay off by the end of the season. I feel it in my very soul and it just gets deeper and deeper in subsequent seasons."

While Winderbaum mentioned upcoming meetings with Trammell to discuss Season 3's pitch, he offered no details regarding release dates for either Season 2 or 3.
