Star Wars: Hunters Shuts Down Before First Anniversary

Star Wars: Hunters, despite its short lifespan, is set to mark its one-year anniversary before its eventual shutdown. But the question remains: is celebrating a dying game's anniversary worthwhile? The game, which faced numerous delays and a lukewarm reception, is indeed winding down. Yet, for fans and players, this milestone might still hold sentimental value, offering a chance to reminisce and celebrate the time spent in the game's universe.

When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?

The servers for Star Wars: Hunters are slated to shut down on October 1st, 2025, just nine months after its launch. Players have until April 15th to wrap up Season 5, which concludes on that date. Zynga, the game's developer and publisher, has planned one final content update for April 15th, introducing a new Support Hunter, Tuya, available for free. On the same day, in-game purchases will be disabled.

Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers go offline, and past season events will be rerun. Players are encouraged to use any unspent Crystals, as no refunds will be issued.

It Isn’t Shocking

The shutdown of Star Wars: Hunters might not come as a surprise to many. Initially announced in 2020, the game faced multiple delays and limited beta tests in the SEA and ANZAC regions. The absence of major console support and the choice to feature generic original characters over the iconic Star Wars legends contributed to its lukewarm reception and eventual downfall.

For those who uninstalled the game but wish to experience it one last time, it remains available for download on the Google Play Store until the shutdown date.
