by Hunter Jan 09,2026

Star Wars fans eager to watch the premiere episodes of Tales of the Underworld will need to visit Fortnite before the series hits Disney+.

Epic Games today detailed plans to expand its Star Wars content, announcing that the animated spinoff's first two episodes will debut exclusively in Fortnite. This move aligns with the studio's Galactic Battle season, which will deliver extensive Star Wars-themed content.

Viewers can catch the Asajj Ventress-starring premiere episodes starting May 2 at 10 AM ET via Fortnite's Star Wars Watch Party island - two days before Disney+ subscribers gain access. Epic also rewards players who link their Epic Games and MyDisney accounts with a First Order Stormtrooper outfit, hinting at additional undisclosed benefits.

"Disney and Epic are pioneering the future of social entertainment through this groundbreaking Star Wars collaboration," stated Epic Games President Adam Sussman. "We're reimagining immersive storytelling in Fortnite with one of the world's most beloved franchises - stay tuned for much more."

The Watch Party island will remain available until May 11, featuring both episodes of Tales of the Underworld alongside a lightsaber-based Battle Arena. Completing both episodes unlocks an exclusive Asajj Ventress loading screen.

The six-episode Tales of the Underworld, animated in The Clone Wars style, follows Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane. According to official details, Ventress discovers new life opportunities while Bane must confront his past.

Disney's partnership with Fortnite extends beyond the Galactic Battle season. Following Disney's $1.5 billion investment in Epic Games (March 2024), the companies plan extensive collaborations, including additional Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar character skins. Notable upcoming content features Darth Jar Jar and Emperor Palpatine.

Fortnite maintains its industry dominance since 2017 through strategic collaborations like the recent Sabrina Carpenter event that transformed battle royale gameplay into a dance party experience.
