EA and Bit Reactor, a studio brimming with XCOM veterans, are finally ready to unveil their highly anticipated Star Wars turn-based tactics game at Star Wars Celebration 2025. Initially announced in early 2022, this untitled project has been developed in close collaboration with Respawn Entertainment. The big reveal is scheduled for April 19th, featuring a live panel with the lead development teams from Bit Reactor, Respawn Entertainment, and Lucasfilm Games.

While details remain scarce—the Star Wars era and precise gameplay mechanics are yet to be revealed—the XCOM pedigree of the development team strongly suggests a similar tactical experience, infused with the rich tapestry of the Star Wars universe.

Meanwhile, Respawn Entertainment continues work on the third installment of its acclaimed Star Wars Jedi series, though its presence at Star Wars Celebration 2025 remains unconfirmed. It's worth noting that Respawn previously canceled an unannounced first-person shooter, rumored to feature a Mandalorian protagonist, as part of a larger EA restructuring. More recently, a multiplayer first-person shooter incubation project was also quietly shelved.

Other highlights at Star Wars Celebration include a sneak peek at The Mandalorian & Grogu movie (slated for May 2026) and a first look at Star Wars: Visions Volume 3.
