Stardew Valley Creator Gives Update on Upcoming Switch Patch

Stardew Valley's Nintendo Switch update is imminent, addressing critical bugs.

ConcernedApe, the game's creator, has confirmed via social media that a patch resolving the game-breaking divorce crash and raccoon shop issues is on its way to the Nintendo Switch. While these bugs have already been fixed on PC, mobile, and other consoles, the Switch version's update is undergoing final development.

The highly anticipated patch follows the release of Stardew Valley's substantial 1.6 update in March, which introduced features like new farm types (Meadowlands Farm), expanded NPC interactions, and enhanced visuals. However, subsequent patches unintentionally introduced new problems, including the aforementioned crashes. A swift response to player concerns saw rapid fixes for mobile platforms, and now the Switch version is nearing completion.

While ConcernedApe hasn't given a concrete release date, they've assured players the patch will arrive "as soon as possible." This commitment to timely updates, coupled with open communication with the community, underscores ConcernedApe's dedication to maintaining Stardew Valley's quality across all platforms. The upcoming patch promises a smoother, more enjoyable experience for Switch players.
