Stellar Blade, developed by SHIFT UP, achieved remarkable success at the 2024 Korea Game Awards, held on November 13th at the Busan Exhibition & Convention Center (BEXCO). The game secured an impressive seven awards, solidifying its position as a leading title in the Korean gaming industry.
Stellar Blade's Triumph at the 2024 Korea Game Awards
The accolades included the prestigious Excellence Award, alongside wins for Game Planning/Scenario, Graphics, Character Design, and Sound Design. Further demonstrating its impact, Stellar Blade also received the Outstanding Developer Award and the Popular Game Award.
This marks the fifth Korea Game Awards win for Stellar Blade Director and SHIFT UP CEO, Kim Hyung-tae. His previous successes span titles like Magna Carta 2, The War of Genesis 3, Blade and Soul, and Goddess of Victory: Nikke.
Kim Hyung-tae expressed his gratitude in his acceptance speech, acknowledging the dedication of the development team and industry officials in overcoming initial skepticism about the feasibility of a Korean-made console game achieving significant international recognition.
While Stellar Blade narrowly missed the Grand Prize, which went to Netmarble's Solo Leveling: ARISE, the team remains focused on the game's future. Kim Hyung-tae confirmed plans for extensive future updates, expressing confidence in achieving the Grand Prize in future award ceremonies.
