Troy Baker Stars as Mouse Detective in New Game

by Lily Feb 13,2026

At today's Summer Game Fest showcase, audiences received their first taste of Oscar-winning voice actor Troy Baker's latest performance - starring as a quick-witted rodent detective in MOUSE: P.I. For Hire.

A Noir-Inspired Rodent Tale

Baker brings to life private eye Jack Pepper, a decorated war veteran turned sleuth who happens to be a mouse. The narrative kicks off when the classic femme fatale walks into his office seeking help, but Pepper soon finds himself entangled in a sprawling web of murder and political intrigue beneath Mouseburg's charming surface.

Visual Style Meets Gunplay

MOUSE delivers a unique blend of first-person shooting action framed within beautifully animated 1930s-inspired cartoon visuals reminiscent of Cuphead's retro aesthetic. The game perfectly captures the moody atmosphere of classic noir cinema while delivering modern gameplay.

Baker's illustrious gaming resume includes fan-favorite roles such as Joel Miller in The Last of Us, Indiana Jones in the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Booker DeWitt in Bioshock Infinite, Sam Drake in Uncharted 4, and Higgs Monaghan in both Death Stranding and its highly anticipated sequel.

Developed by Fumi Games, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is slated for multi-platform release later this year across Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC.
