Unlocking the True Shu Ending in Dynasty Warriors: Origins

To access the true ending for Liu Bei's Shu faction in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, you must first complete the main Shu campaign. This unlocks the ability to replay stages, and you'll notice a golden banner next to "The Battle of Changban." This signifies an alternate path to victory.

Normally, this stage involves escorting Liu Bei to safety while Zhang Fei holds off Cao Cao's forces. However, for the true ending, you must defeat Cao Cao himself. This is a challenging task, as you'll be largely alone against a massive army. Liu Bei's defeat before Cao Cao's will force a mission restart.

To improve your odds:

• Reduce Difficulty: Set the game to "Historian" mode. The sheer number of enemies makes this a significantly easier challenge on a lower difficulty.
• Strategic Partner: Choose Zhang Fei as your partner. This provides a closer starting position to Cao Cao's forces, saving valuable time.

During the battle, conserve your Musou Rage for Cao Cao's Grand Tactics. These involve eliminating enemy officers and defeating a large number of soldiers. A weapon like twin pikes is highly recommended for rapid soldier clearing. Once Cao Cao's army is routed, defeating him should be relatively straightforward. After this, a few additional missions lead to the Shu true ending.
