Napoleon Bonaparte, a *Civilization* series staple, returns in *Civilization 7* (*Civ 7*), but unlocking him requires a few extra steps. There are two versions of Napoleon available: the Emperor and the Revolutionary.

How to Get Napoleon, Emperor

The Emperor Napoleon persona is unlocked by creating or linking a 2K account. Follow these simple steps:

1. Visit portal.2k.com. Log in or create a new account.
2. Link your 2K account to your Civ 7 platform via Connections -> Account Overview.

That's it! The Emperor Napoleon specializes in commerce and military strength, boasting the unique ability "Empereur des Francais": "Gain a Unique Sanction, Continental System, which reduces the Trade Route limit of the targeted Leader to all other Leaders by 1, causes a massive Relationship penalty, and costs more to reject. +8 Gold per Age for every Leader you are Unfriendly or Hostile with. Can reject Endeavors for free.” His agenda, "Napoleonic Code," favors players with the smallest standing army and dislikes those with the largest navy.

How to Get Napoleon, Revolutionary

Prefer the Revolutionary Napoleon? This version is unlocked by having previously played Civilization 6. Follow the 2K account linking steps above, ensuring both Civ 6 and Civ 7 are linked. Upon launching Civ 7, the Revolutionary Napoleon will be available. Note: You don't need to have played Civ 6 on the same platform as Civ 7.

The Revolutionary Napoleon is a cultural/militaristic leader with the ability "La Grande Armee": "+1 Movement for all Land Units. Defeating an enemy Unit provides Culture equal to 50% of its Combat Strength.” His agenda, "Culture from Conquest," disfavors leaders with many alliances but rewards those with the highest Culture Per Turn.
