Begin your journey by speaking with Botim, situated south of the Rinascita-Ragunna-Thessaleo Fells northern Resonance Beacon. He will explain the situation with the haunted towers and offer rewards for cleansing them. This initiates the Shadow of the Past quest.

Thorncrown Rises Tower Locations

Three towers must be explored to complete the Shadow of the Past quest, which is divided into three sub-quests:

• Shadow of the Towers: Resounding Rise: Located northeast of Thorncrown Rises.
• Shadow of the Towers: Twilight Rise: Located south of Thorncrown Rises.
• Shadow of the Towers: Command Rise: Located southwest of Thorncrown Rises.

Resounding Rise

The Resounding Rise Tower's entrance is guarded by Itzel, positioned east of the tower. Inside, navigate the following:

1. Interact with the painting at the hallway's end to proceed.
2. Follow quest markers, engaging and defeating the Abyssal Mercator.
3. Collect supply chests in the northern, western, and eastern rooms.
4. Engage another Abyssal Mercator after entering a second painting.
5. Follow the quest marker to defeat a final Abyssal Mercator.
6. Interact with the painting behind the defeated enemy.
7. Open the chest to cease enemy attacks.
8. Defeat the obstructing enemy.

Solve the painting puzzle:

1. Move the top-left painting to the bottom-right display.
2. Move the painting behind the top-left display to the bottom-left display.
3. Move the top-right painting to the top-left display.
4. Move the painting behind the bottom-right display to the top-right display.
5. Collect the Premium Supply chest.

Finally, engage the last Abyssal Mercator, speak with Itzel, collect the Tidal Supply chest, and weaken the first Command Rise Tower barrier.

Twilight Rise

Travel southeast to the Twilight Rise Tower and speak with Insula to enter. Follow quest markers until you encounter a time loop. Then:

1. Investigate the three marked areas for clues.
2. Speak with Insula.
3. Enter the secret passage under the elevator.
4. Defeat the Abyssal Patricius.
5. Collect the supply chest and follow the Patricius.
6. Defeat the Patricius a final time.
7. Speak with Insula again.
8. Collect the Tidal Supply chest.

This completes the Twilight Rise sub-quest and weakens the second Command Rise Tower barrier.

Command Rise

The Command Rise sub-quest activates after completing the first two.

1. Speak with Insula and Itzel at the camp northeast of the tower.
2. Use the Wingray to fly towards the tower.
3. Enter the tower and follow quest markers.
4. Collect supply chests along the way.
5. Use the grapple to ascend, collecting chests and defeating enemies.
6. Engage the Abyssal Patricius.
7. Collect the chest and continue using the grapple to reach the tower's peak.

Utilize the chandelier mechanism to reach the top, where you'll find Liel deceased. Speak with Insula and Itzel, then use the portal to confront the Abyssal Patricius. Defeat it to obtain the Call of the Abyss Rectifier and a Premium Supply chest.

Exiting through the portal and speaking to Insula and Itzel awards the King of Thessaleo and Shadow of the Tower achievements.
