TennoCon 2024 delivered a knockout punch with the announcement of Warframe: 1999, a massive update promising a nostalgic trip back to 1999. Get ready for a wild ride through a Techrot-infested city teetering on the brink of a Y2K apocalypse.

But before the main event, a prologue quest, "The Lotus Eaters," arrives in August 2024. This quest reunites players with a beloved Warframe character and sets the stage for the 1999 storyline. It also introduces Sevatgoth Prime and their unique weaponry. Completing "The Lotus Eaters" is a prerequisite for experiencing Warframe: 1999 (releasing Winter 2024), so start prepping now!

Warframe: 1999 plunges players into an alternate 1999 Earth, where the Y2K bug is a lethal virus. Explore the retro-futuristic city of Höllvania, corrupted by Techrot, using the new Atomicyles – futuristic vehicles capable of bullet jumps, drifts, and even explosive maneuvers. Command a team of six heroes, the Hex, each sporting a Protoframe – a Warframe design revealing the human beneath.

The Hex boasts a star-studded voice cast, including Alpha Takahashi, Ben Starr, Melissa Medina, and Amelia Tyler. Interact with them through in-game instant messaging for a truly authentic 1999 experience.

Prepare to face a truly 90s antagonist: On-lyne, a boy band corrupted by Technocyte Coda. Their infectious music is available on streaming services – check out their hit single, "Party of Your Lifetime"!

Fashion is key! Warframe: 1999 introduces dual fashion frame loadouts and Gemini Skins, allowing you to bring Protoframes like Arthur and Aoi into the Origin System. These skins unlock fully voiced lines for combat and idle moments, making the most of the impressive voice acting talent.

Beyond the core gameplay, Digital Extremes is collaborating with THE LINE animation studio on a 1999-themed anime short. Plus, new Heirloom skins for Ember (available now) and Rhino (early 2025) are on the way.
