WoW Announces New Timewalking Event Schedule

World of Warcraft's Extended Timewalking Extravaganza: Seven Weeks of Turbulent Timeways!

World of Warcraft players are in for a treat! The Turbulent Timeways event is back, and this time it's even bigger. For seven weeks, starting now and running until February 24th, players can journey through various Timewalking expansions, earning fantastic rewards along the way.

This extended event offers a wealth of opportunities: new rewards, a mountain of Timewarped Badges, and a significant experience boost. The event builds upon the popular five-week run from September 2023, adding even more Timewalking adventures.

How it Works:

Similar to the previous event, players can earn a stackable buff, "Mastery of Timeways," granting a 20% experience bonus after completing four Timewalking dungeons. This time, however, the event spans seven weeks, each featuring a different Timewalking expansion.

The Schedule:

  • January 7-13: Mists of Pandaria
  • January 14-20: Warlords of Draenor
  • January 21-27: Legion
  • January 28-February 3: Classic
  • February 4-10: The Burning Crusade
  • February 11-17: Wrath of the Lich King
  • February 18-24: Cataclysm

Rewards Galore:

Completing the Mastery of Timeways buff for five out of the seven weeks unlocks the "Mastery of the Turbulent Timeways 2" achievement, awarding the coveted Timely Buzzbee mount! Timewalking vendors for each expansion boast new permanent items, including Season of Discovery transmogs at the Classic vendor. The Sandy Shalewing pet, previously unavailable, is also back for those who missed it. Furthermore, the weekly Timewalking dungeon quest reward, the Cache of Nerubian Treasures, now grants Heroic gear during the event.

Looking Ahead:

With the recent conclusion of the 20th-anniversary event (which also featured extensive Timewalking), players will have enjoyed 18 consecutive weeks of Timewalking by the end of Turbulent Timeways. The event's February 24th conclusion date is significant, hinting at the likely release of World of Warcraft Patch 11.1, "Undermined," on February 25th. This aligns with Blizzard's typical release cadence and the holiday season, falling approximately 10 weeks after Patch 11.0.7. With Plunderstorm's second run and The War Within's upcoming update, World of Warcraft is promising a thrilling start to 2025.
