Zynga Unveils Letter Lock Feature in Words With Friends

Zynga has just unveiled an exciting new feature for its popular game, Words With Friends, known as Letter Lock. This eagerly awaited addition introduces a solo mode that players have been clamoring for, along with other fresh updates. Dive in to discover everything you need to know about it.

What’s Letter Lock in Words With Friends?

Letter Lock offers a unique single-player daily puzzle experience. Unlike traditional word games like Wordle, where you input words, Letter Lock involves sliding columns of letters up and down to form real words in the designated entry row. As you successfully create words, additional columns unlock, allowing you to construct even longer words until you reach the puzzle's word-length target. Be cautious, though; each incorrect guess depletes your hearts, and running out of hearts will end your puzzle session prematurely.

While Letter Lock differs from Wordle, it shares a similar vibe with its quick, clever, and daily word challenges. Get a sneak peek at Letter Lock in action in the trailer below.

The Game Is Trying to Keep Things Fresh

Yaron Leyvand, Zynga's Executive Vice President of Mobile Games, emphasized that Letter Lock was developed in response to the desires of long-time players. Introducing innovative gameplay is crucial for keeping the game vibrant and expanding its community.

In addition to Letter Lock, Zynga is launching the Spring into Words event, packed with new daily puzzles and challenges. Players can enjoy solo modes such as Guess Word and Crosswords, along with spring-themed rewards, new Tile Styles, and other special events.
