Ensuring your WiFi network's security is crucial, especially when it comes to the WPS protocol. WPSApp is a tool designed to help you assess the vulnerability of your network by exploiting the WPS protocol, which uses an 8-digit pin for connecting to WiFi networks. The issue arises because the pins for many routers from various manufacturers are either known or can be calculated, making them susceptible to unauthorized access.
WPSApp works by attempting to connect using these known pins, implementing several algorithms for pin generation and default pins. Additionally, it calculates default keys for some routers, displays WiFi passwords stored on your device, scans devices connected to your network, and analyzes WiFi channel quality.
When you scan networks around you, WPSApp categorizes them into three types:
To fully utilize WPSApp, including viewing passwords, connecting on Android 9/10, and accessing extra features, you need to be a Root user.
Please note that not all networks are vulnerable, and a network appearing as such does not guarantee its vulnerability. Many companies have updated their router firmware to address these issues. It's advisable to test your own network with WPSApp, and if you find it vulnerable, take action by disabling WPS and setting a strong, personalized password.
It's important to understand that misuse of this app to intrude into foreign networks is illegal and punishable by law.
From Android 6 (Marshmallow) onwards, location permissions are required due to changes mandated by Google. For more information, visit: Google's Android 6.0 Changes.
Some Samsung models encrypt passwords, displaying them as a long series of hexadecimal digits. If you encounter this, search online or contact the app developer for decryption methods.
Note that pin connection may not work on LG models with Android 7 (Nougat) due to issues with LG's software.
