MAME4droid (0.37b5)

MAME4droid, a port of MAME 0.37b5 developed by D. Valdeita, is an Android adaptation of iMAME4all, originally created for jailbroken iPhones and iPads. This emulator, crafted by David Valdeita (Seleuco), is based on the MAME 0.37b5 by Nicola Salmoria and his team, and it builds upon the GP2X, WIZ MAME4ALL 2.5 by Franxis. MAME4droid is capable of emulating over 2000 different romsets, covering arcade games from the original MAME 0.37b5 and some from newer MAME versions. However, with such a vast library, performance can vary; some games may run smoothly while others might not run at all. Please understand that I cannot respond to individual requests for specific game compatibility.

For users with older devices, achieving optimal performance may be challenging. To enhance your gaming experience, consider lowering sound quality or turning it off, using an 8-bit depth, underclocking the CPU and Sound CPUs, and disabling animations for sticks and buttons, as well as smooth scaling.

After installing MAME4droid, place your zipped ROMs named in the MAME format into the /sdcard/ROMs/MAME4all/roms folder. MAME4droid is compatible only with MAME4droid and iMAME4all ROMs using the '0.37b5' and 'GP2X, WIZ 0.37b11 mame romset'. To convert ROMs from other MAME versions to those used by this emulator, utilize the "clrmame.dat" file found in the /sdcard/ROMs/MAME4all/ directory with the ClrMAME Pro utility, available at http://mamedev.emulab.it/clrmamepro/.

It's important to note that MAME4droid does not support "save states" due to its foundation on a MAME version lacking this feature.
