Ace Trainer is a new Farlight Games release, in soft launch for select regions

Farlight Games, fresh off their successful 2024 collaboration with Lilith Games on AFK Journey, is launching a new title: Ace Trainer. Currently in soft launch in South Korea and the US, this game blends tower defense, pinball mechanics, and creature collection in a unique way.

Ace Trainer features the collection, training, and leveling up of fantastical creatures, reminiscent of Pokémon. However, Farlight adds a twist: these creatures battle hordes of zombies in a tower defense style, rather than traditional turn-based combat. Pinball elements are also incorporated, allowing players to shoot for resources.

While a worldwide release isn't guaranteed, the multi-regional soft launch suggests Farlight has high hopes for Ace Trainer.

A Risky Gamble?

Ace Trainer's design is ambitious, incorporating PvP, PvE, tower defense, pinball, and creature collection. This eclectic mix raises questions about long-term viability. While each element is popular individually, their combination could prove overwhelming or lead to a diluted experience. Only time will tell if this "everything-but-the-kitchen-sink" approach pays off.
