"Activision Falsely Claims Fix for Black Ops 6 Cheater Kicks"

In late January, a video emerged online showcasing a tool that hackers could use to remove players from matches in *Black Ops 6*. This footage was captured during the game's multiplayer beta, as confirmed by Activision in response to the video. However, the vulnerability highlighted in the video was addressed and fixed before the official release of *Black Ops 6* in November. Activision emphasized that the game's current state is not represented by the video, as they continuously investigate reports about such utilities.

Despite Activision's assurances, some players have accused the company of misleading the community, claiming that hackers are still using the tool. They presented a video as evidence, showing the utility in action during a match on the Nuketown map, which was introduced to *Black Ops 6* a week after its launch.

*Black Ops 6* emerged as the top-selling game in the United States last year, according to Circana analysts. This marks the 16th consecutive year that the *Call of Duty* franchise has held the top spot in the U.S. market. Meanwhile, *EA Sports College Football 25*, released on consoles in July, became the most played sports game in the country.

In 2024, U.S. gamers' spending saw a slight decline of 1.1% year over year, attributed by Circana to reduced demand for hardware. However, spending on add-ons and services increased by 2% and 6%, respectively. Looking ahead, the second season of *Black Ops 6* and *Warzone 2* is set to launch on January 28, featuring a ninja theme and a crossover with the "Terminator" universe.
