Nintendo Today App Debuts as Fan Content Hub

by Blake Mar 24,2026

Nintendo Today is a new application from the creators of Super Mario Bros., designed to deliver Nintendo news to players more directly than ever.

During the March 2025 Nintendo Direct, legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto revealed this comprehensive mobile app, which is now available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. It offers several benefits dedicated Nintendo fans should know about.

This all-in-one Nintendo hub functions as a daily calendar and news source, providing players with real-time updates. For example, Miyamoto mentioned that after the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct premieres next week, fans can use the Nintendo Today app to stay informed, with new content arriving daily.

This approach is more immediate than a typical Nintendo Direct, encouraging fans to stay engaged even when there isn't a major announcement. Over time, you'll encounter characters from Mario, Pikmin, Animal Crossing, and other franchises greeting you each day. The feed will feature not only news but also Nintendo-themed content, such as the Pikmin 4 comic "Too Stuck to Pluck" and wisdom from Animal Crossing's otter, Pascal.

While Nintendo Today may not be the Zelda or Super Smash Bros. surprise many fans anticipated from today's Direct, it provides another way for enthusiasts to stay connected. For updates on Metroid, Pokémon, and other announcements from the March 2025 Nintendo Direct, click here.
