The trailer not only introduces a new Xenomorph design but also evokes the chilling atmosphere of Ridley Scott’s seminal 1979 film. Set within a MU/TH/UR control room eerily reminiscent of the Nostromo, it captures the moment of terror as a crew member desperately seeks help while the Xenomorph wreaks havoc. Morrow, portrayed by Babou Ceesay, coldly reports the escape of the "specimens" and the impending doom of the crew, setting the ship on a collision course with Earth. The trailer then shifts to a squad of six soldiers advancing towards what appears to be the crash site, hinting at the grim fate awaiting them.

The trailer raises numerous intriguing questions. Will Morrow survive? What drives his actions? Are there any other survivors, possibly carrying the Xenomorph’s deadly offspring? And how will the soldiers meet their inevitable demise?

*Alien: Earth* sets up its premise with the crash-landing of a mysterious spaceship on Earth, leading a young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a group of tactical soldiers to uncover a terrifying threat. The series is set in the year 2120, fitting neatly into the Alien timeline between *Prometheus* and the events of the original *Alien* film. This placement has sparked fan theories that *Alien: Earth* might explore the departure of the Nostromo from Earth or reveal how the nefarious Weyland-Yutani Corporation first learned of the Xenomorphs. For context, the recently released *Alien: Romulus* takes place between *Alien* and *Aliens*.

In January of last year, showrunner Noah Hawley shared his vision for *Alien: Earth*, opting to steer away from the backstory established in *Prometheus*. Hawley, who consulted with Ridley Scott on various aspects of the series, chose to embrace the "retro-futurism" of the original films, distancing the series from the bioweapon narrative to focus on the lore that fans cherish.

*Alien: Earth* is slated to premiere on Hulu in the summer of 2025, with *Alien: Romulus 2* also in development, promising more thrilling adventures in the Alien universe.
