"Apple Officially Renews Severance for Season 3"

Apple has officially greenlit the highly anticipated third season of the hit series *Severance*, created by Ben Stiller and Dan Erickson. This sci-fi psychological thriller has solidified its position as the most popular show on Apple TV+, with its second season becoming the platform's most-watched series to date. Ben Stiller expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Making *Severance* has been one of the most creatively exciting experiences I’ve ever been a part of. In *Severance*, Mark Scout (Scott) leads a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure that surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. This daring experiment in ‘work-life balance’ is called into question as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work… and of himself.

In Season 2, Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe. Season 2 welcomes new series regulars Sarah Bock and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson.

While a release date for Season 3 has not yet been announced, Ben Stiller reassured fans during a recent appearance on Jason and Travis Kelce’s *New Heights* podcast that the wait won't be as long as the three-year gap between Seasons 1 and 2. “No, the plan is not to [wait three years],” Stiller said. “Definitely not. Hopefully we’ll be announcing what the plan is very soon. That will not be that!”

Stiller also shed light on the delays, explaining, “There was a writers’ and actors’ strike, and it took us a while to regroup after that. I think we shot for 186 days on Season 2. There was a lot of shooting and editing, and editing takes a while. But thank goodness that the audience was there when we came back on.”
