Atelier Resleriana's End: A Year-Long Journey Concludes

Koei Tecmo has announced the closure of Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator, just one year after its global launch. All services will end on March 28th, with in-app purchases ceasing on January 27th. Several in-game events are planned before the shutdown, allowing players to enjoy the remaining time.

This decision comes after the developers admitted they couldn't maintain their initially set quality standards. Despite ongoing improvements and events, they determined that continued operation wasn't feasible. Players can still use existing Lodestar Gems, but further purchases are unavailable.

Many players may not be entirely shocked by this news. The intensely competitive gacha market makes it challenging for new titles to gain traction. Atelier Resleriana, despite promising concepts, faced difficulties.

Criticism centered on gacha rates and banner systems, hindering player progression. The alchemy system, a hallmark of the Atelier series, fell short of expectations, failing to deliver the anticipated creative depth. While the gameplay was functional, it lacked the engagement to compete effectively with established rivals.

Atelier Resleriana faced significant challenges from its launch. While community requests for an offline version are prevalent on Twitter and Reddit, the likelihood of this happening is slim. For those who enjoyed the turn-based RPG, cherish the remaining months.
