Baldur's Gate III's eighth and potentially final major patch is undergoing its official stress test. While some Sony console players received early access, developers advise reinstalling the game for a clean stress test experience.
Patch 8 introduces highly anticipated cross-platform play between PC and consoles. Players with linked Larian accounts can now team up regardless of platform. Surprisingly, modded gameplay is also compatible with crossplay, provided all mods are available across PC, Mac, and consoles, and the host's mod count remains below ten.
Xbox Series S users will rejoice: split-screen co-op is finally being tested on this platform, a feature previously unavailable.
Further enhancements in Patch 8 include a fully customizable photo mode and twelve new subclasses, adding significant depth and replayability. Bug fixes and balance adjustments are also included, though some issues may persist. A comprehensive changelog for the stress test is accessible on the game's official website.
