Capcom to Crack Down on Monster Hunter Wilds Cheaters Before Title Update 1

by Anthony Apr 14,2025

Tomorrow marks the release of the first Title Update for *Monster Hunter Wilds*, introducing exciting quests that encourage players to compete for the fastest clear times. Alongside this update, Capcom has issued a strong statement regarding cheating and the use of external tools to manipulate rankings.

In a recent post on the official Monster Hunter account on X/Twitter, Capcom warned players: "To ensure a fun and fair experience for our players, we will take action against accounts participating in fraudulent ranking activity, such as the use of cheating or external tools. Accounts deemed to be in breach of this may be suspended, or have restrictions placed on them, such as being unable to receive rewards from these quests." This clear stance underscores Capcom's commitment to maintaining a level playing field for all participants.

Moreover, Capcom has extended its warning to multiplayer interactions, stating that players who participate in hunts with cheaters risk invalid quest completion times and could see their "right to rewards" revoked for the entire party. The company advises players to "take caution to avoid playing multiplayer with those who are engaging in prohibited activity, or those you suspect of such," and encourages reporting of any fraudulent activity encountered during quests.

The new quests will offer appealing rewards in the form of cosmetic pendants. Some rewards will be distributed to all participants, while others will be awarded based on Completion Time or the hunter's ranking. This incentive structure explains Capcom's rigorous approach to curbing cheating, ensuring that the rewards and competition remain fair and meaningful.

The Time-Based Competition Quests will be accessible through the new Arena Quest Counter in the Grand Hub in Suja, which players can unlock by completing a special tutorial mission. Make sure to head straight to the Grand Hub once Title Update 1 goes live tomorrow in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. For more details, check out the Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1 patch notes.
