"Climb Knight Update: New Minigames Added This Month"

by Olivia Apr 07,2025

If there's one thing you can say about mobile developer AppSir, it's that their games are always worth checking out. From our glowing review of Spooky Pixel Hero to their latest release, Climb Knight, AppSir consistently delivers unique indie gaming experiences that hit the mark. And now, Climb Knight is set to receive a major update on February 25th, which will be completely free!

You might be thinking, "Didn't you already cover Climb Knight?" Indeed, we did, and we gave it a positive review. Surprisingly, the team at AppSir was taken aback by the warm reception Climb Knight received. In celebration, they're rolling out an update that includes three new one-bit minigames and introduces a mysterious advisor character inspired by Apple Newton shareware. Given AppSir's track record with spooky releases, there's likely more to this advisor and the new gameplay than meets the eye.

AppSir proves that a dedicated indie developer can break the mold and find success on mobile platforms. While I wouldn't label them as the "New Blood" of smartphones, their work shares similarities with the eerie, retro aesthetic of the acclaimed Faith trilogy.

If you're curious about Spooky Pixel Hero, our review (spoiler alert) praises it as another excellent release well worth your time. For more insights into the reception of Climb Knight, check out developer Darius's latest blog post.
