Cosmic Update Hits Wild Rift in Patch 6.1, Mid-April

by Emma May 04,2025

LoL: Wild Rift's Patch 6.1: Ascending Stars is set to revolutionize the game upon its release on April 16th, introducing a cosmic transformation that spans from menus to battlefields. Players will embark on a new journey through the Dual Nova galaxy, featuring the Challenger’s Star and the Adventure’s Star.

The update welcomes three new champions to the roster, each bringing unique abilities that could shift the meta. Ryze, the Rune Mage, offers powerful area-of-effect damage and can teleport allies across the map with his Realm Warp ability. Nocturne, the Eternal Nightmare, sows chaos with his Paranoia, shrouding enemies in darkness. Meanwhile, Zilean, the Chronokeeper, manipulates time to slow foes and revive teammates with Chronoshift.

Several champions are also receiving reworks to enhance their gameplay. Garen's Courage ability now scales over time, increasing his durability, while his Judgment will now shred enemy armor more effectively. Ambessa transitions from the jungle to the Baron lane with adjusted damage and life steal. Minor tweaks are also in store for Diana, Fiora, Jax, Sona, and Kalista, aiming to balance their roles in the game.

Beyond champion updates, a new Bandle-inspired Rift will spice up non-Ranked modes, introducing Enchanted Gifts that players can collect through portals during the laning phase. Mages will benefit from new item updates, including the Bandle Fantasy item that boosts burst damage, the Hextech GLP800 that slows enemies with frost bombs, and Malignance that amplifies ultimate abilities.

Ranked mode sees significant changes with the launch of the Challenger’s Star, marking the beginning of a new season. Updates to the Ranked store and an easier method to earn seasonal rewards are among the highlights. Mid-patch, the Adventure’s Star will unlock AAAARAM, a revamped ARAM mode enriched with augments and stunning galactic visuals.

The Wild Pass introduces two eye-catching skins: Wondertown Twisted Fate and Battlecast Nasus. Twisted Fate's new look heralds the debut of an exciting new skinline.
