In Dynasty Warriors: Origins, enhancing your character's strength is crucial, and one effective way to do this is by utilizing Gems. These valuable items provide passive buffs that significantly boost your performance, especially on higher difficulty levels. Gems can be equipped at any time, offering flexibility and strategic advantages in battle.

Crafting and upgrading these gems involves a bit of randomness, but understanding the system can help you optimize your gameplay. Here's how to craft and level up gems, along with tips to increase your chances of getting the specific gems you need.

How To Craft & Level Up Gems In Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Gem crafting in Dynasty Warriors: Origins is facilitated by Pyroxene, which can be used at any Inn or tent. When you're in your room, select the "Create Gems" option, the second from the top. You can use as many Pyroxene as you want to craft gems, with each Pyroxene having a chance to create one of five possible gems at a one-to-one ratio.

Once crafted, a gem starts at level 1 and can be equipped through the Battle Preparations menu. Crafting subsequent gems of the same type will contribute XP to the base gem, allowing it to level up and increase its effectiveness with each level gained. If you're not particular about the type of gem, using all your Pyroxene at once can be an efficient way to craft multiple gems and upgrade them randomly.

For those seeking specific gems, there's a feature called "Eyes of the Sacred Bird." This effect, which may activate when crafting a single gem, randomly selects three gems, limiting the possible outcomes of your Pyroxene use. You can cancel this effect by exiting and re-entering the gem crafting menu. Crafting gems one at a time can be time-consuming, but it increases the likelihood of triggering Eyes of the Sacred Bird for the gem you're targeting.

While Eyes of the Sacred Bird helps manage the randomness of gem crafting, it doesn't eliminate it entirely.

Here are the five gems you can craft and their corresponding passive boosts:

Gem NamePassive Boost
Oblivion GemExpands attack range.
Vortex GemBoosts damage to enemies launched into the air.
Scorch GemBoosts damage dealt to enemies with parries.
Wellspring GemRestores health for every 100 enemies defeated.
Ascendance GemActivates a chance to automatically block an attack from an enemy officer.

Where To Get Pyroxene In Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Pyroxene can be found scattered across the overworld, appearing as distinctive orange crystals protruding from the ground. Interacting with these crystals will yield one Pyroxene, after which the crystal will vanish. After completing Skirmishes or Battles, some Pyroxene will respawn on the overworld map, encouraging you to revisit and explore previously cleared areas. Additionally, you might receive Pyroxene from letters, which can be read in your room at an Inn or tent.
