Cristiano Ronaldo Joins Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves as Playable Character

by Emily May 20,2025

In a surprising twist that blends the world of sports and gaming, Cristiano Ronaldo, widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time alongside Lionel Messi, is set to make his mark in the fighting game arena. Ronaldo will be a playable character in the upcoming game Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, marking one of the most unexpected guest character appearances in recent memory. The game, developed and published by SNK Corporation, will feature Ronaldo as part of its launch roster when it releases on April 24, 2025.

SNK has released a trailer showcasing Ronaldo's integration into the game's comic-inspired art style. The trailer reveals Ronaldo utilizing football-themed attacks, including a command move called "Headed Clearance" and a slide tackle. Fans will also recognize his iconic 'Siuuu' celebration, although Ronaldo's voice is provided by actor Juan Felipe Sierra rather than the football star himself.

The official description of Ronaldo's character in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves states:

One of the top football players in the world. He uses his time off to visit South Town to hone his new football skills. The various techniques he has developed playing football make him an unstoppable force, even to seasoned fighters.

At 40 years old, Ronaldo continues his professional football career with Al Nassr FC, a club based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, competing in the Saudi Pro League. The club is majority-owned by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF), which is chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Interestingly, SNK is now almost entirely owned by the Saudi Crown Prince's foundation, adding an intriguing layer to this crossover.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves promises a dynamic art style, a mix of new and familiar fighters, and modernized battle systems, set to captivate both fighting game enthusiasts and football fans alike upon its release in April 2025.
