If you follow Rockstar Games on X (the Everything App formerly known as Twitter), you might have been taken aback to see them promoting the British film "Marching Powder" and its star, Danny Dyer. The tweet from Rockstar Games reads:

From our friends Nick Love and Danny Dyer, the absolute legends behind The Football Factory...@MarchingPowder_ — a proper naughty comedy out tomorrow in the UK and Ireland.

It's natural to wonder why a gaming giant like Rockstar, with 21 million followers, would endorse a small British film. And if you're unfamiliar with Danny Dyer, you might be curious about who he is. Let's delve into it.

Who is Danny Dyer?

Danny Dyer, whose full name is Daniel John Dyer, is a well-known actor hailing from East London. In the UK, he's a household name and, as Rockstar aptly described, an "absolute legend." To grasp his reputation, consider the Urban Dictionary's definition of a "legend":

*"A person who embodies the pinnacle of all the important social aspects. Any person who is funny, reckless, original, and sensitive in the right measures is likely to be nominated a legend by his associates. A person to whose persona you aspire."*

Dyer has been acting since 1993, often portraying rough-and-ready working-class characters. His public persona is equally bold; he's vocal about societal and governmental issues, adopting a "tough uncle" approach to life. For instance, in 2010, he advised a Zoo magazine reader recovering from a breakup to go "on a rampage [drinking session] with the boys." His social media presence is equally entertaining, as seen in this memorable post:

Roll on bonfire night..........it's gonna get strapped to a great big massive fuck off Rocket so it can join the other Furbys in the sky...

How is Danny Dyer Connected to Rockstar?

If you're a fan of the Grand Theft Auto series, you might recognize Danny Dyer's voice. He played Kent Paul in GTA: Vice City, the manager of the Scottish rock band Love Fist, and reprised the role in GTA: San Andreas, where he managed the Gurning Chimps and produced for rapper Madd Dogg.

However, Dyer's connection to Rockstar extends beyond the gaming world. In 2004, he starred in "The Football Factory," a British film directed by Nick Love and produced by Rockstar Games. This film, which delves into football hooliganism, heavy drinking, and drug use, showcases a gritty British humor.

"Marching Powder," the film Rockstar promoted on X, reunites Dyer with Nick Love. Although not a sequel to "The Football Factory," it shares similar themes. Rockstar's endorsement appears to be a nod to their past collaboration with Dyer and Love, rather than any involvement in "Marching Powder" itself.

Is Vice City's Kent Paul Returning for GTA 6?

As of now, there's no confirmation about Kent Paul's return in GTA 6. The X post about "Marching Powder" doesn't hint at any GTA 6 developments. However, it's worth considering the possibility.

Grand Theft Auto spans two distinct universes: the 3D era (games on PS2 and PSP) and the HD era (GTA 4 onwards). These universes have separate storylines, which is why the Los Santos in GTA 5 differs from that in San Andreas, and characters from the 3D universe aren't directly mentioned in the HD universe games.

Despite this separation, there are crossovers. Grove Street from San Andreas appears in GTA 5, and several gangs from the 3D universe, like the Ballas, exist in the HD universe. Lazlo, a notorious character, also spans both eras. Notably, Kent Paul's name graces the Vinewood Walk of Fame in GTA 5.

So, could Kent Paul make a comeback in GTA 6? It's possible, but the social media post about "Marching Powder" doesn't provide any clues toward that confirmation.
