by George Apr 24,2025

Essence Stones have become essential items in *Fields of Mistria* following the game's March 2025 update. These stones are crucial for various new features, making them indispensable for daily tasks. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to find, craft, and utilize Essence Stones of different sizes.

Since the March 2025 update, Essence Stones can be discovered in chests scattered throughout the mines of *Fields of Mistria*. My first encounter with one occurred while searching for offering items to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60, but these chests can appear on any level across various biomes and floors. Be cautious, however, as some chests are mimics that can harm you upon interaction.

Essence Stones come in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. Smaller stones are more common, but with diligent searching, you can find larger ones. If you're struggling to find them, consider crafting them at the Stone Refinery within the mines.

Crafting Essence Stones is possible at the Stone Refinery in *Fields of Mistria*. This facility is introduced through a new story quest in the March 2025 update, requiring you to construct it from scratch within the mines. After fulfilling the necessary prerequisites, Adeline will enlist your assistance alongside Olric and Errol.

To build the Stone Refinery, gather:

  • x200 Wood
  • x400 Stone
  • x5,000 Tesserae

Once the refinery is operational, you can craft Essence Stones of varying sizes. The crafting process requires Stone and Essence, with the quantity varying by stone size. Refer to the table below for detailed crafting requirements:

**Tiny Essence Stone**x5 Stone x5 Essence
**Small Essence Stone**x10 Stone x25 Essence
**Medium Essence Stone**x20 Stone x50 Essence
**Large Essence Stone**x40 Stone x100 Essence

Beyond Essence Stones, the Stone Refinery also allows crafting of common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items such as Obsidian and Diamond. This makes it a vital hub for crafting supplies needed for new builds and projects in Mistria.

How To Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update introduced the auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics to *Fields of Mistria*, both of which rely on Essence Stones. Larger stones provide a more extended charge, maximizing the number of days you can benefit from their use.

The auto-petter mechanic is linked to the Animal Sprite Statue, which you can place in Large Barns and Coops. This statue ensures all animals within are automatically petted daily, provided an Essence Stone is in use. Find this rare item in a concealed cave near Errol’s house in the Narrows, accessible by using the Dragon’s Breath spell. You can craft additional statues once unlocked.

The sprinkler mechanic is activated by the Water Sprite Statue, which you can place anywhere on your farm to automatically water crops within a 2-tile radius when powered by an Essence Stone. Craft additional statues as needed to cover more crops. Discover this item and its crafting scroll on a small island east of the beach, beyond the Lighthouse area. Access the island by swimming and using Dragon’s Breath on the entrance.

As *Fields of Mistria* continues to evolve with future updates from NPC Studio, Essence Stones are likely to play an even more significant role in gameplay.
