Unlocking the Lady Vengeance: A Divinity: Original Sin 2 Guide

Escaping Fort Joy and removing your Source collar in Divinity: Original Sin 2 lands you on the Elven ship, Lady Vengeance. Your goal? Get this unconventional vessel sailing. This guide will help you navigate the puzzle and set sail.

The key to setting sail lies in a series of clues scattered throughout the ship. You must explore, interact with NPCs, and solve a few riddles. The ultimate objective is to access Magister Dallis' cabin and utilize the Ancient Empire Songbook.

Investigating the Ship's Deck

Begin by examining the bodies of the magister and gheists on deck. Loot them for clues and valuables. A Sodden Diary found on a magister's corpse contains a password crucial for accessing a stateroom. You can also obtain the password by successfully completing a skill check at the northern stateroom door.

Beyond the password, you'll need a Strange Gem to interact with the Portside Stateroom door. This gem is found on Bishop Alexander, located west of the cabins, once you've examined his regalia. A magic mirror, south of the stateroom doors, allows unlimited respecs – handy if you need to boost skills for the password check.

Accessing the Portside Stateroom

Armed with the password and the Strange Gem, head to the ship's quarters. Before entering the staterooms, interact with the unconscious Bishop Alexander to obtain the Strange Gem. Use the gem and the password ("Fortitude") to unlock the southern stateroom door. Inside is Magister Dallis' cabin, holding the next vital piece of the puzzle. Be warned: Dallis' cabin also contains a hidden hatch with dangerous gheists and a Teleportation Prism.

Finding the Ancient Empire Songbook

Inside Magister Dallis' cabin, you'll find Tarquin. It's advisable to speak with Dallis fully before searching. The Ancient Empire Songbook rests on a pedestal in the center of the cabin. Reading it will reveal the song needed to move the ship. Remember to talk to all NPCs before setting sail, as opportunities for interaction and companion changes disappear once the ship departs.

Setting Sail

With the song learned, return to the deck and speak with Malady. Inform her of your discovery. She will ask you to sing to the ship. Locate the dragon figurine on the western side of the deck and sing the song using the interaction option. Lady Vengeance will respond, allowing you to continue your journey. Be prepared for a challenging battle with powerful magisters immediately after setting sail. Ensure your party is well-equipped and has sufficient companions.
