The key to hunting AI is stealth. Use the scent button to locate nearby animals, indicated by animal icons. A meter, visible when crouching, shows how close you can get before spooking the animal. Movement directly impacts this meter.

Your movement speed is crucial. Sprinting fills the meter rapidly, running significantly affects it, trotting less so, and walking fills it most slowly—ideal for the final approach. Wind direction also matters; downwind spooks animals faster, crosswind is moderate, while upwind offers the best approach.

Pay close attention to the AI. A question mark above the animal icon indicates increased sensitivity to movement. Halt movement until the question mark disappears to avoid spooking your prey.

The meter will fill before you reach the AI. Be ready to sprint once it runs. AI movement is unpredictable; practice in open areas for better visibility.

Get extremely close to bite your prey. Once caught, drop and eat it, repeating the hunt until satisfied.
