"Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 Development Progresses, Confirms Director"

Game director Hamaguchi has shared that the team is diligently working on the sequel to the critically acclaimed Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. He urges fans to remain patient, assuring them that new information will be released in due time. Hamaguchi highlighted that 2024 was a banner year for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the second part of the trilogy, which garnered numerous awards and captivated a global audience. The development team is now focused on broadening the fan base for Final Fantasy VII and introducing unique challenges in the upcoming third installment.

Interestingly, Hamaguchi also mentioned that Grand Theft Auto VI caught his attention this year. He expressed admiration for the Rockstar Games team, acknowledging the pressure they face following the monumental success of GTA V.

While details about the third part of the trilogy remain under wraps, Hamaguchi assures that development is progressing "smoothly." It's worth noting that the team has been working on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which was released less than a year ago, and promises that the next installment will offer a unique experience for players.

On another note, the launch sales for Final Fantasy XVI in May 2024 were disappointing and did not meet the fiscal year's projections. Square Enix has not yet disclosed the specific sales figures for Final Fantasy XVI or the most recent Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Despite the initial shortfall, the company remains optimistic, stating that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth's sales are not considered complete failures. Additionally, there is confidence that Final Fantasy XVI can still meet its goals within the next 18 months.
