Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Reveals New Trailer

by Emery Mar 17,2026

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach arrives later this month, but for eager fans, Hideo Kojima unveiled a new gameplay clip today at Summer Game Fest.

The footage introduces two new characters: Lucy (played by Alissa Jung) and Neil (Lucci Marinelli). Neil works as a porter, much like our protagonist Sam Porter Bridges. They share a charged emotional moment triggered by a matching brand on their hands—Neil appears to remember Lucy from a past encounter, while Lucy becomes visibly distressed. Kojima notes that Neil’s role carries a similar dramatic weight and performance depth to that of Mads Mikkelsen in the previous game.

Death Stranding 2 continues the story of Hideo Kojima’s open-world delivery adventure, following Fragile and Sam Bridges many years after the original events.

Back in September, Kojima Productions released several gameplay snippets from Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, highlighting its surreal photo mode, dancing puppet figures, a character portrayed by Mad Max director George Miller, and other strange elements only Kojima could imagine.

We also witnessed a shirtless Norman Reedus wading through dark sludge to encounter a man named Tarman (also played by Miller) and his levitating feline companion, alongside an eerie talking puppet. The cast also includes Tomorrow (Elle Fanning) and Rainy (Shioli Kutsuna). The game launches on June 26, 2025, exclusively for PS5.
